THE BRANNEN-COOPER FLUTES

Brannen Brothers now makes three different flutes. All are Brannen-Cooper flutes using the scales developed by our Vice-President Emeritus, Albert Cooper. All use the same Brannen-Cooper headjoints, and all are handmade by the same staff members. Our many headjoint options are discussed under Headjoints.

The Brögger Flute: Our most well known, popular instrument, this flute combines the traditional fingerings of the Boehm system with the enormous advantages of the Brögger Mekanik™. This mechanism increases the reliability of the keywork and reduces internal friction, allowing keys to be adjusted much more closely to individual preferences. A soldered tonehole flute, the Brögger offers the widest possible range of options, including choice of materials and custom keywork. We are proud to offer the Albert Cooper Orchestral Model as an option on our Brögger flutes.

The Millennium Flute: This more moderately priced flute is the newest of the Brannen-Cooper instruments. It has a Brannen pinned mechanism, designed with Brannen Brothers' usual excellence and attention to detail. The Millennium is an .016" or .018" sterling silver, drawn tonehole flute, which offers our most popular options.

The Kingma System Flute: This revolutionary flute is capable of playing the traditional repertoire with all the usual Boehm system fingerings. However, by using the additional keys incorporated into the design, it is also capable of playing a complete quartertone scale, and a full range of extended techniques, including many new multiphonics. Since this flute utilizes a completely new system, few options are either available or needed. An offset G, C# trill, and B footjoint are all integral to its design. While the body tube may be sterling silver, gold, or platinum, the keywork is always sterling silver.

HEADJOINT RETURN POLICY

When a customer receives a new Brannen-Cooper headjoint, either as part of a new flute or purchased separately, that headjoint may be exchanged for another Brannen-Cooper headjoint, whenever necessary, within one year of purchase.

When a customer purchases a new Brannen-Cooper headjoint separately, i.e., not as a part of a new flute, it may be returned for a full refund with 30 days of purchase.

When a customer purchases a new flute, the headjoint on that flute may be returned for a refund within 30 days of receipt of the flute. The refund will be approximately two-thirds of the price of that same headjoint purchased separately, i.e., not as part of a new flute.

Please note: The return or exchange of any headjoint requires that the headjoint (1) is in its original, undamaged condition, (2) has not been engraved at the customer's request, and (3) has not been custom fit to a nonstandard size barrel joint.
